Terms of Service
Last updated November 5, 2026
These terms are the agreement between you and Pulup ("Pulup", "we"). We've tried to write them the way we'd explain them to a friend. By creating an account or using the app, you agree to them.
1. Who can use Pulup
You must be at least 18 years old to use Pulup. You also need a school (.edu) email address that is yours, and you'll confirm it before your account is active. A school email alone doesn't make you eligible: high school students in dual-enrollment or college-credit programs can't use Pulup. If we learn an account belongs to someone under 18, we'll close it and delete its data.
2. Your account
Keep your login to yourself and tell us if you think someone else has access. You're responsible for what happens on your account. Use your real name and an honest profile — one account per person.
3. Meeting people in real life
Pulup helps you find events and friends nearby, but we don't screen users or events. Meeting people in person carries real risks, including injury and harm caused by others. You decide whether to go, and you're responsible for your own safety: meet in public places, trust your instincts, and leave if something feels wrong. In an emergency, call 911.
3a. Hosts are responsible for their events
Hosts, not Pulup, organize events. If you host, you're responsible for your event and your guests, including following the law, your lease or housing rules, and campus policies on alcohol, capacity, and noise. Pulup doesn't sell tickets, provide alcohol, or check IDs. Door check-in confirms an invite, not someone's age or identity.
4. Location sharing
Sharing your live location with friends or groups is always optional and off by default. You decide who sees it and for how long, and you can stop at any time. Only share with people you trust. Don't use Pulup to track anyone without their knowledge.
5. Things you can't do
- Harass, threaten, stalk, or impersonate anyone — including a club or organization.
- Post events that are illegal, dangerous, or misleading.
- Use Pulup to sell or advertise alcohol, drugs, or weapons, or to charge for entry or drinks.
- Share someone else's personal information without permission.
- Scrape, reverse engineer, or overload the service.
- Trade praise, fake check-ins, or file reports to get back at someone.
- Repost a friends-only plan or a party's exact location to people it wasn't shared with.
- Send invites to pester people, or share event links to bring in people who aren't welcome.
Pulup has zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive users. Report anything that breaks these rules from the profile, event, or chat, and block anyone you don't want to hear from. We aim to act on reports within 24 hours, and we may remove content and suspend or close the accounts responsible.
5a. Clubs and organizations
Anyone can start a club page, and the person who starts it is responsible for it: the name, logo, description, officers, and the events posted under it. Only start a page for a club you actually run or are authorized to represent. A verified badge means Pulup has confirmed the page belongs to the real organization; we may remove it, or the page, if that stops being true. Following a club is optional and lists you on its page; officers can invite followers to the club's events. If a club owner deletes their account, the longest-serving officer takes over, or the club closes if there are none.
5b. Parties, guest lists, and check-in
Party hosts choose whether a party is open, request-to-join, or invite-only. Hosts may approve, decline, waitlist, or remove guests, but may not use Pulup to discriminate unlawfully, harass people, or organize unsafe activity. Exact party locations are for admitted guests only; do not repost or share them without the host's permission. Door codes and QR check-ins verify attendance and must not be copied for someone who is not approved.
Pulup doesn't check ages or IDs. If there's alcohol at your party, you're responsible for following the law: don't serve or provide it to anyone under 21, check IDs, and never charge for entry, cups, wristbands, or “donations” where alcohol is provided — in most places that counts as selling alcohol without a license.
6. Your content
You own the photos, messages, and events you post. You give Pulup a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, copy, resize, display, and share your content to run, secure, and improve Pulup — including in shared event links and notifications — for as long as it's on Pulup. You confirm you have the rights to what you post. We don't pre-screen content and aren't obliged to, but we may remove content or limit accounts at our discretion. You can delete your content or your whole account at any time from Settings. If you delete your account, upcoming events you were hosting are cancelled; past events stay on the record without your name so the people who went keep their history.
7. Praise and fair play
Pulup doesn't rate people. After an event you went to, you can give other people who were there positive praise tags, for up to 14 days after it ends; at a party, you both need to have checked in. Praise shows on profiles as counts. Give it honestly, and don't trade it or coordinate it. Party guests have a reliability tier based on verified check-ins; hosts of a party you ask to join can see it and may set a minimum. Host and guest trust summaries use verified check-ins and positive feedback; they are not popularity or appearance scores. Problems go through reporting and blocking. False check-ins, retaliatory reports, and attempts to manipulate reliability may lead to limits or suspension.
7a. Purchases
Pulup is free to use. You can also buy Pulup Plus, a monthly subscription that includes free event boosts; profile styles, which are one-time purchases; and event boosts, which put one of your events at the top of everyone's list for three hours. Prices are shown before you pay. Web purchases are processed by Stripe, which may act as the seller of record and handle sales tax; purchases in the iOS app are processed by Apple. Their terms apply to those sales too.
Pulup Plus costs $4.99 a month plus any tax, charged when you join and every month until you cancel. Cancel anytime: on the web with Manage or cancel Plus on the Style & Plus page, and for iOS purchases in your Apple account settings at least 24 hours before the month ends. You keep Plus until the end of the month you've paid for. Deleting your account stops renewals on the web; on iOS, cancel with Apple. Apple handles refunds for purchases made in the iOS app; for a problem with a web purchase, email us at privacy@pulup.io. If a style purchase is fully refunded, the style is removed from your profile. We'll tell you before a price change takes effect.
8. Ending your use
You can stop using Pulup and delete your account whenever you want. We may limit, suspend, or close accounts that break these terms, send spam, or put other people at risk, and we apply gentle rate limits to keep the service working for everyone. If your account ends, sections 6 (for content already shared), 7a (amounts owed), 9, 11, and 14 still apply.
9. Disclaimers and liability
Pulup is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. Locations, times, and maps may be out of date or wrong. Don't rely on Pulup in an emergency — call 911.
To the extent the law allows, Pulup isn't liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app, or for what other users do, on or off Pulup. Our total liability to you is limited to the greater of $100 or what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. These limits don't apply to death or personal injury caused by our negligence, to fraud, gross negligence, or willful misconduct, or to anything else the law doesn't let us limit.
10. Copyright
Respect other people's work: only post photos and logos you have the right to use. If you believe something on Pulup infringes your copyright, email privacy@pulup.io with your contact details, the work, where the content is on Pulup, a statement that you believe in good faith the use isn't authorized, a statement under penalty of perjury that your notice is accurate and that you own the copyright or may act for the owner, and your signature. We remove content in response to valid notices, accept counter-notices, and close the accounts of repeat infringers.
11. Changes
If we change these terms in a meaningful way, we'll ask you to review and accept them again in the app before you continue using it. Changes apply once you accept them and don't affect disputes that arose before.
12. If you use Pulup on an iPhone
If you got Pulup from the App Store, these terms are between you and Pulup, not Apple. Apple has no duty to provide support for the app. If the app fails to meet a warranty, you may ask Apple to refund the purchase price of the app, if any; Apple has no other warranty obligation. Pulup, not Apple, handles any claims about the app, including product liability, legal or regulatory compliance, consumer protection, and intellectual property. You confirm you aren't in a country under a U.S. embargo or on a U.S. list of restricted parties. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them.
13. Maps
Pulup's maps and addresses come from Google Maps; when Google's map can't load, the map is drawn from OpenStreetMap data (© OpenStreetMap contributors) served by OpenFreeMap. By using Google Maps you also agree to the Google Maps/Google Earth Additional Terms of Service and the Google Privacy Policy.
14. Governing law and the rest
These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and of the state where Pulup is organized, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and disputes go to the courts there, except where the law where you live says otherwise.
These terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between you and us about Pulup. If part of them can't be enforced, the rest still applies. If we don't enforce a part right away, we haven't waived it. You can't transfer your rights under these terms; we may transfer ours as part of a merger, acquisition, or sale of our business. We'll send notices to you in the app or by email, and you can reach us at privacy@pulup.io.
